ROBOTIC CYTOREDUCTIVE SURGERY AND HIPEC
Robotic cytoreductive surgery combined with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) represents a cutting-edge approach in treating advanced abdominal cancers, such as peritoneal mesothelioma or ovarian cancer. This technique allows for precise removal of visible tumors using robotic instruments, which offer superior maneuverability and visualization in the confined abdominal cavity. Following tumor removal, HIPEC delivers heated chemotherapy directly into the abdomen to eradicate any remaining cancer cells, enhancing treatment efficacy. Robotic assistance reduces trauma, minimizes blood loss, and accelerates recovery times compared to traditional open surgery, offering patients a potential for improved outcomes and quality of life after complex cancer treatment.
